Welcome to PVAC
Who we are
Unlocking value chains has been identified as a priority pillar of the FMoH strategic blueprint (2023 – 2026).
The Presidential Initiative for Unlocking the Healthcare Value Chain (PVAC) is a strategic government effort established by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a cornerstone of the Renewed Hope Agenda in October 2023.
Operating under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare and the leadership of the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, PVAC aims to unlock billions of dollars in new investment into Nigeria’s healthcare delivery system.
Our Mission
To unlock new investment to accelerate Nigeria’s healthcare value-chain transformation by expanding private sector participation and fostering cross-institutional coordination and collaboration.
Our Vision
To transform Nigeria into one of the world’s key emerging hubs of health products and technologies, manufacturing and service delivery.
Objectives
Supporting the industrial development of Nigeria’s life sciences and healthcare services and technologies sectors:
- Increase the spectrum of health products and technologies manufactured in the country
- Expand local capabilities in R&D and early- stage production
- Expand and improve the level of healthcare services provision
- Strengthen the competitive position and growth of Nigeria’s life science sector leaders
Developing the enabling environment in Nigeria:
- Increase investment attraction across Nigeria’s healthcare value chains
- Strengthen locally developed entrepreneurial solutions
How we work
Two main types of activities:
Opportunity Origination and Support:
- Focused on identifying and supporting the execution of investment and technology transfer related opportunities in the country (e.g,. Investor roadshows, technology transfer support)
Partnership and Ecosystem Strengthening:
- Focused on equipping the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem with the support essential to achieving PVAC’s desired outcomes (e.g. Policy development and advocacy)
